Company

Established in 2013, Catalpa Underwriting Ltd is a new underwriting agency specialising in Liability and Commercial Motor business. We provide our products through a select number of independent brokers throughout the Republic of Ireland.

Catalpa Underwriting Ltd is based around providing an efficient service to our customers in a speedy manner using custom built I.T. systems. We take a flexible approach to our clients’ needs and provide a high level of service to our broker partners by giving direct access to our underwriters.

Paul McGrady

Director

Paul brings over 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry in Ireland to his role in Catalpa. This includes 16 years’ experience in underwriting Liability classes. Paul’s experience has been unique in his use of ‘old school’ underwriting techniques and values in providing consistent support and flexibility to his broker network. This stems from his belief that commercial business should be underwritten on the merits of the case and not solely as a homogeneous policy as has been done in the past by others.

Paul is a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland. He previously served as president of the Insurance Institute of Galway as well as holding a position on the National Council of the Insurance Institute of Ireland for a number of years.

Noel Quirke

Director

Noel has worked in the Insurance/Reinsurance industry for over 28 years both in Ireland and overseas. Noel has a wealth of experience in Underwriting, Claims, Customer Service and as General Manager for various companies. He brings his unique experience to his role in Catalpa.

In recent years Noel has worked with many companies in Ireland as a consultant

Brian McGrady

Director

Brian has over 14 years’ experience in providing IT support for Insurance Companies in Ireland.

Brian brings his extensive knowledge of both Commercial and Private insurance platforms, Management Information, and Service\Change delivery to his role in Catalpa.
